Characterization sheetAncient Campaign Rules for DBA

Rulers and generals are rolled up with personality traits, Military Skill, Aggressiveness, Courage and Age.

How it works

Disposition, Morals, Generosity, Loyalty and Appearance are rolled with 5d6 at once (1s and 6s together become 2s and 5s); Popularity is their average +/-1. Military Skill is d6 +/-1 for intelligence, from 0 Horrible (E-) to 7 Military Genius (A+); Aggressiveness d6 +/-1 for activity gives 0-3 aggression points. Together they form a Command Rating such as 'B,2'; Personal Courage, Age and Political Fealty are also rolled.

The result of the MILITARY SKILL & AGGRESSIVENESS rolls is a COMMAND RATING for each general such as "B,2" for a "good" General with 2 Aggression Points

Every model gets a named character card that records kills and skills and can carry into a campaign.

How it works

Cards bear a photo of the model, its name and nickname, and a record of kills and skills gained; drawing from the collection deck can pick the forces for a game. Dead characters' cards are relabelled for a new character.

As characters have battles and adventures, and gain skills, they tend to develop their own personalities, and nicknames that reflect this can be entered on their card
