Non-cumulative killsRules for Middle Earth

Heroes and wizards die only to a single melee throw scoring enough kill points.

How it works

Hits on heroes are not cumulative; the enemy must score a 10-point kill in one melee throw to kill a hero, and 20 points in one round to kill a wizard. Points from separate rounds do not add up.

In a melee, the enemy must score 20 point kills in one round to kill a wizard, points are not cumulative.

Hits and Casualty MarkersVictory Without Quarter

Hits do not accumulate; only three or more unsaved hits from one attack inflict a Casualty Marker.

How it works

Hits from an attack are resolved and then dropped. A single artillery hit forces a morale test; three hits from one artillery, shooting or melee attack place a Casualty Marker (and a morale test). Each marker gives -1 to hit and morale, and when markers equal the unit's stands it is removed. No rosters or figure removal.

Hits do not accumulate from turn to turn. If a unit survives the results of taking the Hits, they are dropped and cause no further effects.

Balloon BustingCanvas Eagles

An observation balloon is destroyed only by a single attacker scoring two or more RED damage chits in one turn; damage from different attackers or turns does not add up.

How it works

In the Balloon Busting mission, balloons sit at altitude level 1 and count as stalled. A balloon is destroyed only if two or more RED damage chits come up in a single turn from a single attacker. RED chits from several attackers, or spread over several turns, do not combine. The Le Prieur anti-balloon rockets (6.08) are the stated exception. Incendiary rounds (all aircraft after July 1917) add +1 to combat rolls against balloons.

are only destroyed if hit by two or more RED damage chits results in a single turn from a single attacker (exception, see: "6.08 Le Prieur Anti-Balloon Rockets")
