A d6 plus the general's aggression points decides whether he withdraws, defends or attacks.

How it works

When enemies share a province each general rolls d6 + aggression points, +1 if he thinks he has 30% numerical advantage, +1 if desperate, -1 if he thinks he is outnumbered by 20%. A/B generals may choose to add or subtract 1; D generals have a 50% chance and E generals always shift 1 toward the extreme. Under 3 withdraws, 3-4 fights only a defensive battle, 5+ attacks; if both only defend, the lower roll withdraws.

Less Than 3: GENERAL will not fight and must withdraw. 3,4: GENERAL will fight a defensive battle only. 5 Or More: GENERAL will attack.

NPC Reaction TableWrath of Heaven (Tenchu)

Unalerted guards and civilians roll a d6 each action to determine their behaviour.

How it works

Only NPCs within 12" of a Ninja, in the same compound, or able to see him within 24" are rolled for. Guards: 1 no move, 2 turn 90 degrees, 3 move 6" away, 4 turn and move 6", 5 move 6" forward, 6 move 6" towards the Ninja. Civilians have their own table. -1 if the Ninja has cover, is over 12" away or higher; noise tokens are added.

Civilians and guards act randomly on a roll of a D6 when activated, unless they have previously spotted a Ninja and still have him in sight.

Enemy aircraft roll to spot a surfaced boat and then strafe it every turn until it dives.

How it works

If surfaced, roll a die: 4+ not spotted, otherwise place a Spotted token. A spotted boat suffers a Strafing Attack each Aircraft Phase, damaged on 3+, until it submerges and discards the token. Submerged boats cannot be spotted.

If the U-boat is surfaced, an enemy plane will attempt to spot you. Roll a die: On 4+, the U-boat is not spotted
